Get Your Butt In Here

Alone at last with my computer, 2 bowls of cereal and Tivo.  I have time to blog today because...

1. My brain will explode if if don't.
2. I know how to successfully pawn my children off on other people
and make it seem like it was their idea.
3. My house is LITERALLY wrapped up like a cocoon in plastic and there is NO WAY OUT!

Yes, Mr. Painter Men are here again.  It took them awhile to come back after the peep show.  And all the men are suddenly wearing large hats and sunglasses.  And I am in a parka.  And there is plastic covering every window and door.  They say it is to protect the door and window frames.  But we all know it's so they don't have any chance of seeing the 43 year old white woman in her birthday suit. I feel like we are in a large science experiment and we're being quarantined. Soon those men from the movie ET will break in and want to analyze us.  I just want to "phone home".  Or  go to Nordstrom's Cafe.

We are still in home staging/improvement/repair hell.  Monday the electrician was here, tomorrow the carpet cleaner and then hopefully Vern Yip from Design Star to put it all back together for me.  And just so I can say his name some more.  We are shooting for an Open House on Saturday.  I have always wanted strangers wandering through my house, checking out my underwear drawers and critiquing my cleaning and decorating skills.  So yes, the Open House is a dream come true.  (If you would like to come there will be a special viewing for blog friends.  The first 10 to show up will get a shirt that says "I saw Linda's underwear drawer and all I got was this dumb t-shirt").

So while people are traipsing through my house I will be taking in a quadruple feature at the movie theater. Any movie having to do with airbenders, vampires, or Tom Cruise running fast will do.

Linda

I would actually recommend the Tom Cruise one. Surprisingly, it was funny. It was probably his mind control that made me think that.

Good luck with the open house!

Have fun at the movies and good luck with the open house. If you sell your house, do you have a place to go?

Go see Toy Story 3, the vampire one, and I know there is another one out there I'd like to see. LOL

I would love to be one of the first ten, but I think even if I drove nonstop, I still would be more like the 58th or something. ;)

hmmmm... for that T-shirt it might be worth the drive :)

I've only seen Toy Story 3 - you'll have to share your opinion of the others once you're not in goldfish mode. (everyone being able to see everything about your life)

Vampires, yes! Tom Cruise, eh. Toy Story, woohoo!

Hope that plastic covering is keeping 'everyone' safe, especially those hats and sunglasses I tell ya. By the way, I would love to have one of those shirts and maybe those paint men would love one too, haha! Have a great week!

Open houses can be such a stresser. I plan to win the lottery so I can buy a new house and just leave the keys in the door to the old one. ;)

That t-shirt idea is GREAT!! Also, I would like training in #2!

I feel like my brain wants to explode without blogging, too. Just so little time to do it.

Do you teach classes about the kids thing? I need to learn.

I want to see all those movies. Eventually, though, not all at once.

Good luck getting everything ready without flashing any more than necessary. Although maybe that would get more people in looking at the house?

Okay, I'm getting kind of tired of this whole staging/repair crap. I'd like you to quickly sell and be back to normal, so I have your blog to look forward to. And about the movie, um, can I just say TOM, TOM, and more TOM. But that's just me.

I was always freaked out by those ET guys in suits. Now I wonder if Vern Kip was one of them.

Hahahaha! That so reminds me of that scene in "Something's Gotta Give" when Jack Nicholson sees Diane Keaton naked, so the next day she's all covered head to toe and acting super weird.

Don't let the ET men come near you!! **hands Linda a sign that reads "This is a No-Probe Home."

I'm sorta confused. Why are you staging your house?
WHY would you do that to yourself?
Why do you just parade around in more of your undies and call it a day!

Hang in there!

First of all Tauna has a point. Why are you dressed in your skivvies all day long?

Ahh, home improvement can be a nightmare. *sigh*
If your A/C or furnace goes out you can call my husband...He is a HVAC tehnician...

I am SO glad you blogged today..YAY!!
I've missed you!

Yip, Cheeseboy. Yip. Get it right. He is only the most fabulous interior designer ever to grace the screens of any HGTV/TLC viewers. Except for maybe Sarah on Sarah's House. I want to live in Sarah's House.

(Linda, you make me laugh. A lot.)

Yep for Yip. I'm getting sick of this whole remodel thing, too. So when are you coming back to town? Can't shop for shoes for awhile. Dang! I shoulda bought those!

I'm going pass on the underwear drawer. I'll just meet you at the movies. Split a popcorn?

Sorry, I don't share soda!

I feel for you! I know exactly how hard it is to get a house ready to show. Mine's for sale too. The only difference is I refuse to have open houses.

What t-shirt do I get if I skip the Open House and go to the quadruple feature with you?
