Memory Speedway

I am blogging from my phone. It is supposed to be a smart phone so we'll see just how smart it really is. As long as it is smarter than me, we'll be just fine.

Yes, I am that committed to my blog. Or just ready to be committed I am not sure which.

I have been on a road trip without the hubby for two days now.
I have discovered two very wonderful things about traveling alone.

1. I don't have to confer with anyone about when to stop and pee or whether I should go through a 3rd drive thru in as many hours for a Dr Pepper.

2. There was no one to blame but myself when I got lost.
No "You should have turned back there idiot!"
Only the own voices in my head were left to have it out. And they never listen to me anyway.

So I have actually enjoyed being alone with my little boys. Now, don't tell them that or it will ruin the whole "mommy dearest" thing I got going on and they will never fear me again.

I dragged my boys to my old college stomping grounds and a trip down memory lane ensued.
And memory lane turned into memory speedway and they endured it patiently.

Look boys, there is my first apartment.

Look, this is where I grocery shopped.

This is where I pretended to study.

That is where that boy and I .....nevermind.

This is where I failed all those tests.

There is the jewelry store where we got my engagement ring.

This is where your dad and I lived but those condos weren't there.

There is the doctor's office I first heard your sisters heartbeat.

That is where we went to church.

This is where I had all those dreams 20 years ago,
that have all come true.

Sigh. What a great day.

Besides splitting up sentences very strangely, my phone did okay. I guess it's smart-ish.

You and your phone did very well. And the kids secretly love trips down memory lane, they're just not allowed to let you know this. Have fun!

About the bathroom trips~my husband's bladder seems to be teenier and less stable than mine, the older we get. If that's even possible. HE is the nuisance pee-er. I KNOW! But good luck with all that. We're heading out tomorrow morn to do the same. But we'll be LEAVING hellish crap weather. Sorry you entered it. :)

I have found that my kids could really care less about my trips down memory lane. Maybe when they get older, like 30...

If you hit the BYU cany counter, get some chocolate covered raisins for me. They are the best!

Glad you're having fun!:) I hope I get to go back to my BYUI someday & even show my hubby those things (minus the engagement ring & baby's heartbeat thing... hubby was on his mission while I was there ;)

I love road trips! The trip to Utah has to be my favorite. I probably annoy everyone with my bathroom breaks.

Friends call me dixie cup! Nice to meet ya.

Ah! what a sweet blog. It's fun to see where you started, especially your new life as a couple. I love traveling with my husband (usually) but I can also see where it might be nice to be on your own for a road trip.
